7th-Jan-2008 01:39 pm - I'm Wondering
Today i'm wondering where Matt is. He was supposed to fly in late last night from Costa Rica, but he is not here, and his cell phone his off. I hope everything is ok, he probably just got the times screwed up at the airport or something. Still wondering where he is though.

Rai planned a surprise date night for the two of us on Saturday evening. It was great, we went to Bright Nights, then to see the lights at the Legislature Grounds, and then to Moxies for some dinner. I love doing things like that because it is so damn easy to forget your actually dating a person and they aren't just your room mate with sexy benefits. Ha ha. Anyway it was really sweet and I think we are going to do it once a month, and take turns coming up with ideas for fun.  Yesterday Rai decided to move all the furniture in the living room around, it's good, change is good. I like variety and things get boring after awhile. I'm just going to have to get used to the new lay out.

I read on CBC news that Bif Naked has breast cancer. That is so very sad, I hate hearing about good people getting sick like that. She'll probably be fine though. I don't know anyone in my family who has had it, but there have been other types of cancer, no one close to me has had it. The way everyone talks about it though, makes it seem almost inevitable that someone close to you will suffer from it. I hate that idea but you just never know. Both my parents were/are pretty sick, i'm surprised actually that me and my brother haven't had any of the same issues. It's lucky I guess.

I really want to go to Banff next month, but i'm afraid we just won't have the money. I've never been skiing or snowboarding, lame of course, but I want to try. Any excuse to get out and experience new things, that's what i'm excited about. I just wish experience wasn't equal to money you have in the bank. Maybe not always, but a lot of the time. We may go to Fort Mac this month, visit some more Auge's, that would be neat. I've never been there before.....although there won't be much to see but a lot of lonely, horny, overpaid men. I'm looking forward to going to the Mountains when the temp get's warmer. Travelling is what makes life worth living.

I already have another online journal, that I have been using off and on for the last several years, but I thought it was time for a change. It's 2008 and i've already done quite a bit of growing in preparation for this new year. School starts this month, it may only be part time but i'm super excited to be going to college after 4 years post highschool. I'm also excited to start my volunteering this year, and getting my drivers license. Yay no more learners! My goals for this year are to be financially stable, do some travelling, visit some family, maybe do some work on the new sleeve I want, learn to stop worrying about things I can't change, be more flexible, get in the habit of drawing more often. I miss drawing and being artistic in general. It's so easy to fall out of that groove and forget about that part of yourself.  I'm actually really looking forward to this year, it feels like the year where I will have more control over my wants and needs, especially when combining self employment with school, doesn't get much more flexible than that. I'm really enjoying reconnecting with people via facebook, it's really opened up doors and provided a platform to rekindle old friendships, ones that never really disappeared in the first place, but could have. I've realized that family and friends are really important to me, i'm not sure where that value came from, as my family tends to be spread out and sort of divided. But I try and keep us together. It's not easy but it's important.

Today when I was walking to the bank, I noticed that I smile at people when I walk past them on the street, even if they don't smile back. I'm glad I do that, people should really be more friendly to eachother.
